The Spider Solitaire playbook

Take a moment to read the table. Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer. Look at the complete hand before deciding. Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

Two decks, one/two/four suits; fill every column before a ten-card stock deal. Free solo play, no wagering.

Give this approach a try

Treat this as a chance to practise one rule. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

What the game asks you to do

  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Keep the active rule in mind.

An example to follow

A mixed-suit descending stack cannot move as one group. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

Where a round can go wrong

A clear plan starts with the current position. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.
