The essentials of playing Sevens

Check the rule below as you play. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

Practice with a purpose

Keep the goal in view while choosing a move. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

Your objective

Take a moment to check the current turn. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

How to proceed

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

How to interact with the game

Take a moment to check the current turn. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. The game area remains available above the explanation.

A useful example

Keep the goal in view while choosing a move. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. The game area remains available above the explanation.

One detail worth checking

Read the position before choosing your next action. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. The game area remains available above the explanation.
